Chin-Ups, 12 Hours - Current world record
1. Stephen Hyland (UK) broke the world record for the most chin-ups in 12 hours by completing 3,750 chin-ups on 24 June 2007 in Stoneleigh, Surrey. (The attempt ended after 8:03 hours, leaving the rest of the time unused.) Within the first six hours, he did 2,968 chin-ups which is a world record as well.
 
Previous verified claims
1. Guy Schott (USA) set the world record for the most chin-ups within 12 hours with 3,116 on 28 April 2007 at the Airport Club in Santa Rosa. Because of blisters on the palms and finger tips, the attempt ended after 9 1/2 hours, leaving the rest of the time unused.
2. Jason Armstrong (USA) completed 2,409 chin-ups in 12 hours on 11-12 November 2006 at Gymnastics Plus in Southlake, Texas, USA.
3. Steve Hyland (UK) did 2,222 chin-ups within 12 hours on 9 Nov 2005.
4. John Corcoran (Canada) did 1,773 chin-ups within 12 hours on 26 May 2005 at The Athletic Club in Thunder Bay, Ontario (Canada).
